  James NG is currently responsible for sustainability and social business of Danone in China. In his current position, he is also responsible for Danone’s “One Planet One Health” initiative in China, which include various planet, health and social inclusion related programs.

  NG is current co-chairman of China Sustainability Steering Committee, Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), a global nonprofit network of consumer goods retailers and manufacturers. He is also a member of the Regional Standards Advisory Group-Asia of B-LAB, a nonprofit international network promoting B-Corp certifications.        

  Prior to his current position, NG held various management roles at Danone including general manager, general secretary, and various commercial positions in China.  Throughout his career, he has held various leadership positions in the consumer goods industry, including president-consumer product division at Hong Leong Asia; managing director-China at Carlsberg Group; managing director-China at American Standards; and various commercial roles at Unilever in Malaysia and China.

  On top of his professional experience, NG was actively involved in various nonprofit organizations and volunteering activities, including his time as chairman of the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai and as a career coach to several universities in China.

  He is fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK (FCIM). He earned his BBA (with honors) from the National University of Malaysia and his MBA (with honors) from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
