  HUANG Cunrui is a professor at the Vanke School of Public Health at Tsinghua University, China. Outside of his academic career, he serves as the Chief Scientist of the National Key R&D Program funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. He also serves as the lead author of the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Huang is a China National Committee Member of Future Earth. Additionally, he is committed to building and strengthening the Collaborative Network on Climate Change and Health Research under the Belt and Road Initiative.

  Huang’s research focuses on the health impacts of climate change and extreme weather events, especially on more vulnerable populations. He has been conducting research on heat-related mortality, years of life lost due to climate change, understanding sources of vulnerability, and adaptation planning to improve health outcomes.

  Huang has published over 180 articles in prestigious journals such as Nature Climate Change, JAMA, Environmental Health Perspectives, and his work has been featured in many media outlets.
